We are a couple based out of southern vt/western ma. We started making art together to combat climate dread and to find ways to work through being rural queers. We find ways to repurpose textiles and create imagery for patches and prints that make old clothes feel more reflective of our experiences.
Pyre makes screen printed patches with imagery reappropriating white trash for south asian diaspora. Noah makes upcycled fabric collages and eco prints made with rust.
Noah also offers onsite visible mending/hand sewing adornments.
Noah’s goal in creating artwork is to repurpose textiles and imagery that would otherwise be thrown away. Imagery and words combine to speak to their experiences as a rural queer person. Using discarded textiles and limiting the waste produced by the clothing industry is very important to them.
Pyre’s goal is to create imagery that feels inline with their experiences as a white trash South Asian from NH. Combining and juxtaposing imagery from growing up hunting with traditional South Asian motifs.
